ENCINITAS —- With menu offerings as diverse as short rib sliders, risotto balls, jambalaya and roasted Brussels sprouts, there will be something for nearly every taste Aug. 27 at the annual Taste of MainStreet International Food Festival.
Hosted by the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association, the 20th annual restaurant crawl offers ticket-buyers a chance to sample menu items from three dozen downtown Encinitas restaurants, bars and businesses. Tickets for the event are limited to 1,000 and only 400 tickets were still available late last week, so advance reservations are highly recommended.
Restaurants will begin serving at 6 p.m. and continue until 9 or until food supplies run out. Even those who don’t have tickets are invited to mingle along Highway 101 on Aug. 27 to listen to live music in six locations along Coast Highway 101 by Semisi & FulaBula, Backwater Blues Band, Tropical Breeze, Peter Hall, Creede Johnson, Russell Castiglione and Earl Flores.
