2011 Arts Alive Banners
ON SATURDAY, March 12th, 2011 at 12noon the 101 Arts Alive Banners will be unveiled, view the banners until4pm at Cabo Grill on the corner of North Coast Hwy 101 & La Costa Ave. After the unveiling the Banners will be on display on the lamp posts along Hwy 101 in Downtown Encinitas, Leucadia and the Cardiff Town Center where they will remain until May. On Sunday, June 5th at 2pm the Arts Alive Banners will be auctioned off by professional auctioneer Rich Houk at the Cardiff Town Center Courtyard. Final bids are accepted at the Live Auction. November 2011 – In the year 2000, Peder Norby, who was at the time executive director of the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association (DEMA), brought an idea to the 101 Artists’ Colony, that was comfortably cocooned in the Lumberyard Center. October 28, 2010 - The ghouls and goblins, pirates and princesses and more than a few local characters will be on hand to celebrate a “Safe Trick or Treat” in downtown Encinitas on Halloween. The event is a longtime tradition sponsored by the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association with support from local merchants. Children of all ages will dress for the occasion and participate in games and crafts at the Lumberyard while listening to a children’s band from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. courtesy of the 101 Artists’ Colony.
