Welcome to DEMA, the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association.
Welcome to DEMA, the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association's new web site! We are a robust group of business and property owners in the coastal downtown area of Encinitas, California. Our mission is simple: restore, revitalize and enjoy! We welcome business owners and residents to join our organization, volunteer at our community-focused events or just enjoy everything that is one of the last old-style California beach towns located in San Diego’s North County.
Main Street is a revitalization strategy used in over 1,200 cities and 40 states. Developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center, the program encourages imaginative use of business and government resources to support local downtown and neighborhood commercial district revitalization efforts. The MainStreet approach is based on four points and relies on eight guiding principles to produce fundamental change in traditional commercial business districts.
