22nd Annual Taste of MainStreet
The Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association is pleased to present the 22nd Annual Taste of MainStreet International Food Festival on Thursday, September 15th from 6pm-9pm. Downtown Encinitas has over 40 unique eateries, located in a historic downtown. Many of these restaurants are well known throughout San Diego County for being fine purveyors of food.
For the third year we will be holding the People’s Choice Award. We encourage every event attendant to vote for their favorite bite of the night by coming into the DEMA office (818 S. Coast Hwy 101). Taste of MainStreet allows ticketed participants the chance to taste delicious sample size offerings from 33 restaurants in Downtown Encinitas. The event is one of the largest and most successful events of its kind in San Diego County, and takes place only once a year. The night will feature music in 5 different locations on Hwy 101. The event lineup includes Randy Fontaine and the Swingers in the Center Courtyard of the Lumberyard, Allison Adams Tucker & Allegato World Jazz in front of Leucadia Pizzeria, Tropical Breeze in front of Kealani’s, The Jack Stiteler Jazztet at the DEMA Office and Russell Castiglione at Swami’s Café. The event has limited capacity, and demand for tickets never fails to exceed the 1000 sold. Tickets are available beginning Thursday, August 18th on a first-come, first-serve basis. They may be purchased using cash, check, or Visa/MasterCard, and are available online at www.encinitas101.com, or in person at the DEMA office located at 818 S. Coast Hwy 101.
In the event that you are unable to get a ticket, it is still a great night to be in Downtown Encinitas and to mingle with friends. There will be live musical performances at multiple locations along Highway 101, and most of the restaurants will be serving full meals as well.
The restaurants will begin sampling food at 6pm and will serve those with tickets until 9pm, or until they run out of food. The three-hour window allows you to take your time as you walk down Highway 101 and provides opportunities to stop along the way to enjoy the music or to have a drink.
