Wanted: Boys and Ghouls!
From 5pm to 8pm
THE PUMPKINS have been harvested which means it is time for all of the fair princesses, beauty queens, witches, warlocks, ghouls and mischief makers to come out and safely Trick or Treat on Halloween night. From 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010, D.E.M.A. will be continuing its night of Safe Trick or Treats. Hwy 101 will be converted into Pumpkin Lane featuring fantastic, carved pumpkins at four different viewing locations.
There will be games, music and free Halloween portraits. The many merchants handing out candy will be marked with the DEMA Safe Trick or Treat poster in the window. Pumpkins can be viewed at various areas throughout the downtown. All along South Coast Highway 101, from The Den to SRF Books & Gifts, kids will have the opportunity to Trick or Treat from our local merchants starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be plenty of parking at the NCTD Coaster Station Lot at D or E Streets and Vulcan Ave.
Children can play Halloween games as well as dance to the music of the Uplift Band in the courtyard of the Lumberyard courtesy of the 101 Artist’s Colony www.101artistscolony.com. Oh My Dog Photography will be snapping free Halloween portraits for costumed children. The photos will be taken at 816 S. Coast Hwy 101.
The pumpkin harvest was unbelievable this year producing pumpkins weighing over 100 pounds. Once again the monks at Self Realization Fellowship www.yogananda-srf.org are donating the pumpkins, as well as their time and pumpkin carving expertise to bring Pumpkin Lane to life. New this year, SRF will present The Queen’s Court at SRF Books & Gifts at 1150 S. Coast Hwy 101.
