Safe Trick or Treat

haloween

On Halloween each year, a stretch of  South Coast Hwy 101, from Encinitas Blvd. to K street, is decorated with  elaborately carved pumpkins at different viewing locations  and the Queen will be granting wishes at the Queen’s Court next to the  Self-Realization Fellowship Bookstore.

The 101 Artists’ Colony sponsor a kids zone where children can enjoy games, music  and activities at The Lumberyard Courtyard. Downtown merchants hand out candy in a tranquil, safe setting where tricksters of all ages have loads of fun.

The event is presented by the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association with immense help from those at the Self-Realization Fellowship who grow and harvest the pumpkins on the hill above Vulcan, south of Santa Fe Drive.  The monks of SRF carve them for the enjoyment of the community each year.

Downtown businesses generously participate and join in the fun.
