WHEN: Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 5pm-8pm
WHERE: 710 S. Coast Hwy 101 in downtown Encinitas
The best word to describe the Encinitas Lifestyles Fashion Show is eclectic. In 2008, DEMA created the Encinitas Lifestyles Fashion Show to showcase the diverse and unique fashions our downtown shops and local Encinitas based designers have to offer. Pairing art and fashion with music and dance, the show highlights the many different styles and attitudes represented in Downtown Encinitas. Whether you live in your yoga clothes, gravitate towards the surfer style or like to get all gussied up for a night on the town, the Encinitas Lifestyles Fashion Show represents it all. This year the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association (DEMA) is excited to announce they will be partnering with local non-profit Jeans4Justice (J4J). The partnership with Jeans4Justice will help both organizations educate the public and showcase diverse art and fashion. J4J is an internationally known non-profit that educates the public about sexual assault, empowering men and women to respect each other. J4J enlists the support of the art community, fashion industry and general public to give a voice to an issue that affects all people, regardless of their age, race, gender, religion or ethnicity. The fashion show is a great way to come out and support the MainStreet program, all proceeds will be used for the DEMA high school scholarship foundation and Jeans4Justice programs.
This year the show has a record number of local boutiques and talent to showcase including Azul Boutique, Bikinis by Rose Ponizil, Coast Hwy Traders, Common Threads, Detour Salon, Divinity Salon and Boutique, Double Take, Flashbacks, Hansen Surfboards, Home, Jeans4Justice custom denim, Lemongrass Salon and Spa, Lucia Bella, Nixon, Magical Child, Mog+Rue, The Black Sheep, Utopia Style Lounge, Queen Eileen’s, and Yoga Tropics.
DEMA and J4J will be kicking off tickets sales with a VIP open house event at the DEMA office 818 S Coast Hwy 101 from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday, September 7th. Come join the models, artists and local merchants for drinks, snacks and a sneak preview of custom art and fashions from the show. Be the first to purchase tickets for the September 25th show! Tickets will cost $20 presale and $25 the day of the event. There is also a $10 ticket for those under 21. Tickets include live music, art shows, appetizers from downtown restaurants, two drink tickets and of course a seat to the big show. Tickets will be on sale at the DEMA office from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday after September 7th.

I attended the show last year and LOVED it! I even bought a few of the things shown.
My husband and I are planning to move from Ocean Beach to Encinitas on or before Sept. 1 of this year.
I would love to be involved, if not this year, than perhaps next. I have a background in fashion and worked as a graphic artist for many years. I currently work for San Diego State University as a coordinator, and also do freelance writing. I would be happy to volunteer wherever you need help.
that should be “if not this year, THEN perhaps next…”
Hi Pat,
Did anyone get back to you yet? I am so happy to hear that you liked the show! It is getting even bigger and better this year. The show will now be from 5pm-8pm and will feature live music, art, sewing, photography exhibits, food and drinks! We will be on the corner of Hwy 101 and F Street, so the show will be outside this year as well. We will definatley need volunteers the night of the show if you are interested! Feel free to stop by the DEMA office any time and we can talk about the event!
Thanks a bunch!
